LSF Gaming Party Information

Lambda Sci-Fi Gaming Parties are an opportunity to engage in one of our geeky passions – games. We’ll have multiple tables available and attendees will choose games (of the tabletop/card/board variety – not of the game console variety), find players, and have fun gaming with each other. Some will choose “fluffy” games (simple rules, easy to learn and play, straightforward strategy choices), some will play “crunchy” games (long rule booklets, many pieces, complex strategies), some will play “social” games (things like Cards Against Humanity or Codenames where social interaction is a part of the game), and really any other type of game.

Where do the games people choose to play come from? Well, you, the attendees, of course. We encourage people to bring along their favorite game (or two or three or more…) to share their enjoyment with others. The hosts usually also have a number of games available for selection.

We generally have two types of Gaming Parties – ones where we’ll order pizza or people will take a break to grab food at nearby takeout spots – and Potlucks where we encourage people to bring more substantial food items to share. Look for Potluck in the event title to determine which type any given Gaming Party might be.

For BOTH types of gaming parties we ask that people try to bring non-alcoholic beverages
and/or snacks/munchies to share.

For pizza/take out parties – we ask that anyone who wishes to join us for the pizza order
bring $10 in cash.

For Potlucks – we ask that people bring something more substantial, entrees and side
dishes to serve 4-6 people and/or desserts to do the same.

Our New Year’s Eve Gaming Party is usually the only Gaming Party where alcohol is allowed, and that is just for the midnight toast.

So come join us for one of our Gaming Parties!
